If you wanted to play a Hollywood stuntman whose only form of doing magic was through absurd mge of reality-bending heroism that everyone but you knew were impossible, it was possible under the old system. There was a previous set of World of Darkness games, which were set in the same world and so should have been compatible.
It’s my favourite by a country furlong. The single most important thing for a system based on story and character is that the world is varied enough that we can make a wide variety of characters, and fully-realized enough that it is a world that we would want to explore, a world where we can present many different ideas and scenarios.

This is my favorite tabletop RPG by my favorite gaming publisher of all time. Apr 22, Jace Davies rated it really liked it. There is a 2nd edition version of the blue book coming out pretty soon too, I can only hope that future NWoD splat books don’t suddenly become dependent on it rulrbook it comes out though.
Better and more streamlined than the original Mage the Ascension, this version is more adaptable to different situations. The Fallen World is the world where humanity now exists, and the Supernal realm is the realm of magic, where the victorious mages of long ago now reside. mzge
The writing is likewise awkward, especially when the awakenijg is trying to get poetic. I took basic philosophy in school — Plato and all that shit — but none of that comes close to the esoteric mindfuck of this magic stuff.
It has a great deal of promise – exploring power, hubris, gnosticism and Lovecraftian horror – but isn’t quite corw. I wouldn’t recommend playing this with anyone who wasn’t prepared to devote some time to understanding the spellcasting system in its entirety. Shipping outside of the US: Thus for the Vampire the Requiem, Mage: The arbitrariness with which the systems of blood potency, vitae, and and other basic rule functions are just ported straight over from NWoD does make for a cote blendable system, but underscores just how much this game functions as a knock-off of the Vampire rewrite, how little new content is added other than a magge of vocabulary, and how weak the book is in terms of capturing the open-endedness of old sphere magic.
Honestly, White Wolf tend to produce stuff that’s littered with typos and in places incomprehensible, but in this case you’re merely missing a crucial rule book.
